Bedford Rock Choir celebrated its 15th anniversary with a party at the Harpur Suite, attended by around 80 members. The choir, known for its performances at major local events such as Bedford Proms in the Park and Bedford River Festival, regularly attracts 165 members to rehearsals. The celebration included karaoke, food, dancing, and a specially made cake by member Jo Middleditch, with certificates presented to members who have been part of the choir since its inception.
Rob Baker, the choir leader for the past five years, highlighted memorable moments including performances with singer Russell Watson and at the NEC in Birmingham. He emphasised the strong community spirit within the choir, noting that members often attend multiple rehearsals and social events, forming lifelong friendships. Bedford Rock Choir, which has 29 locations across eastern England, continues to welcome new members without auditions or the need to read music.
