Items belonging to the fishing boat Kilda, which vanished off the north coast of the Isle of Lewis on 13 October, have been recovered as the search for the vessel and two missing crew members continues. The boat was crewed by Norman "Tam" Murray, 40, Murdo Morrison, 23, and Douglas Craigie, 49. Craigie's body was recovered shortly after the disappearance, while Murray and Morrison remain missing.
Police Scotland's marine and dive unit, alongside partners, conducted the search near Port of Ness, within a Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) exclusion zone between the Butt of Lewis and Port of Ness. The exclusion zone was lifted at 23:59 on 22 October. Insp Neil Taylor described the operation as complex and urged the public to avoid risky search efforts. A GoFundMe campaign for the families has raised over £148,000, exceeding its £110,000 target.
