Deputy PCC’s HerSpace event strengthens support for women and girls in Bedfordshire

Bedfordshire’s Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner, Umme Ali, hosted the latest HerSpace Bedfordshire event at the Addison Centre in Kempston on 14 October 2026. Launched earlier this year, HerSpace Bedfordshire is a network designed to enhance collaboration and visibility among organisations supporting women and girls across the county, with a focus on smaller and grassroots groups. The event featured expert panel discussions addressing issues such as abuse prevention, employment access, and economic independence for women.

The initiative aims to build partnerships and share knowledge to create a more coordinated support system for women, girls, and victims of crime in Bedfordshire. Deputy PCC Ali praised the engagement and insights shared during the event, emphasising the community’s commitment to fostering a safer and fairer environment. The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner encourages local organisations to join the HerSpace network to help shape future support services.
